Our Project: Aims and Description

> We are proud to collaborate on the Erasmus+ project "The Globalization of Music: Analyzing How Music Spreads Across Borders and Cultures," which brings together schools from Belgium, Turkey, and Romania in a creative, inclusive, and educational partnership. Our aim is to explore how music acts as a universal language that can break down cultural, linguistic, and social barriers, helping us connect our students and communities across Europe.

> Through this project, we want to promote intercultural understanding and mutual respect among children aged 4 to 12. By engaging in collaborative musical activities, workshops, performances, and digital creations, we offer our students the opportunity to discover diverse musical traditions and cultural practices. We believe that early exposure to different cultures encourages empathy, tolerance, and a sense of belonging to a wider European identity.

> This project is important because it responds to real needs in our schools: the need to enhance the quality of music education, to create inclusive environments where all children feel represented, and to prepare our students to become open-minded global citizens. Music offers a powerful, joyful way to do all this. It inspires creativity, strengthens communication, and supports emotional development.

> We organize three international face-to-face meetings and two virtual meetings where our students and teachers come together to learn from and with each other. These experiences are designed not only to develop musical and linguistic skills but also to build lasting friendships, strengthen digital competences, and inspire collaborative innovation.

> For our teachers, the project is a valuable opportunity for professional growth. We share practices, tools, and methodologies in music education, enriching our own teaching approaches and bringing fresh ideas back to our classrooms. We also work together on project planning, management, and evaluation—strengthening our schools' capacity for international collaboration.

> By the end of this two-year project, we hope to achieve many things: greater cultural awareness and sensitivity among our students, improved musical and digital skills, stronger communication and language abilities, and more confident, inspired teachers. We also want to share our experiences with our wider school communities—through performances, exhibitions, and online platforms—to spread the positive impact of this partnership even further.

> Together, we are building bridges through music—across borders, across cultures, and across generations – and see 'How Music Spreads Across Borders and Cultures'…
